Testimonials from our students on international mobility programmes
In the fourth semester, Institut Paul Bocuse offers its students the opportunity to study at one of its partner institutions in Europe, Latin America or Asia. This year, the health crisis disrupted the organisation of a number of mobility programmes, but five students managed to leave and are currently enjoying their experience in Spain, Finland and South Korea.
Here's what they have to say:
"I've got used to the rhythm of my classes and life in Barcelona. I spend a lot of time with my flatmates to reduce the risk of catching COVID, and I often walk around this beautiful city. I really enjoy the classes and all my teachers are passionate and patient, which makes distance learning more enjoyable."
Juliette SORIN, Bachelor’s degree student in International Hospitality Management, on a mobility programme in Barcelona (CETT)
"The Erasmus programme is going perfectly; the classes are intense and very different from those offered at Institut Paul Bocuse. The teaching approach here gives us a lot of individual responsibility (...) I have to work much more, but it allows me to discover a lot of subjects and methodologies, and has helped me develop a new mindset, especially concerning my priorities."
Margaux WARD, Bachelor’s degree student in International Culinary Arts Management, on a mobility programme in Barcelona (CETT)
"The classes are interesting but sometimes quite complicated, but that's an additional challenge. The weather is very good and it's quite pleasant."
Thibaut GALLIEN, Bachelor’s degree student in International Culinary Arts Management, on a mobility programme in Barcelona (CETT)
"Everything is going very well in Helsinki. The classes are great, the way of teaching is completely different to France. The students call the professors by their first name, and the classes are more like exchanges on each other's experiences, rather than just lectures. Even though I have a lot of work to do, I also have a lot of free time which allows me to visit the surroundings of Helsinki. We have a week's holiday coming up, from 20 February, so we have a 10-day trip planned."
Constance HUBER, Bachelor’s degree student in International Hospitality Management, on a mobility programme in Helsinki (Haaga Helia)
"I came out of quarantine* about a week ago. As for my first impressions, they are mostly very positive! The locals are quite welcoming, happy to see us and for the most part do their best to understand and help us. I was able to visit Daejeon a bit and discover their local market, which is, for the moment, my best experience here: I was able to taste Korean street food as well as local products."
Lucie NORA-HARTMANN, Bachelor’s degree student in International Culinary Arts Management, on a mobility programme in Woosong (South Korea)
*A 14-day quarantine is imposed on all those arriving in South Korea
Don't hesitate to seize the opportunity to take part in an international mobility programme. Students will soon be able to attend the first conference presenting the opportunities on offer and address all their questions to Elena Camiletti - International Mobility Officer:
