The Trait d'Union student society revisits "Top Chef" in a shelter for the underprivileged
Among the student clubs and societies at Institut Paul Bocuse, ‘Trait d'Union’ supports humanitarian projects. Headed by Antonin Gambini, he tells us about the culinary competition organised on Saturday 20 March at the Jacques Monod shelter in Villeurbanne.
"This shelter is for young workers, people returning to work, undocumented migrants... We organised a competition based on the Top Chef TV programme model where 4 teams, made up of young people from the shelter, students from the Institute and staff from the shelter, competed against each other. After an hour and a half of cooking, each group had their dish rated by a panel of judges made up of staff from the shelter. The fifteen or so young people who took part in the competition were delighted and ‘Trait d'Union’ should soon return to this shelter, or another one, in order to organise a new event!"
Congratulations to the whole ‘Trait d'Union’ team who, through this event, contributed to offering a moment of enjoyment around cooking to young people experiencing hardship.
